The Human Rights State

Governments must now protect, enforce, and implement human rights obligations amongst their people, and defend their people from infringements from any internal or external sources regarding the same.

The goal of government must be to protect human dignity, consistent with local, regional, and cultural definitions and values of self-determination.

Thus, all of humanity must transition their governments towards “human rights sovereignty.” All governments must become human rights states.

It is important to particularly note that defending human rights means defending the right to a clean, healthy and sustainable environment, and defending human lives and self-determination from environmental destruction and climate chaos.

Humanity is far from this goal today, but, humanity can collectively work to (1) preserve human dignity and freedom in an age of ecological collapse; and (2) create and implement a plan to survive this century and work for a better world in the centuries ahead.
